draught of 2 ft 6 ins.Open hold with no hatch boards.
uprights
Long and thin diagonal braces that fit between the top of the gunwhale on
a narrow boat and the underside of the running planks. They at intervals along
the hold of a narrow boat to give rigidity to the running planks when the cloths
are tied tightly over them.
