Terminology Initiatives at the Horniman Museum, London
The Horniman Museum has reviewed the terminology it uses in cataloguing its ethnographic collections prior to transferring its databases into MultiMimsy. In particular, the Museum has compiled a thesaurus of ethnographic object names comprising some 4500 terms, and one of ethno-linguistic groups, with around 750 terms. Jennifer Punnett is also the Secretary of the Ethnographic Terminology Working Group.
