The Railway Object Name Thesaurus, created by MDA and the Railway Terminology Working Group, forms part of a suite of terminology control mechanisms covering many aspects of the cultural heritage sector. These include:

• English Heritage Components Thesaurus
• Maritime Craft Types

as well as thesauri dealing with specialised monuments such as:

In addition to these thesauri, several in-house systems have been published including:

The British Museum has kindly made these thesauri available via the MDA website (www.mda.org.uk) but it is unable to accept candidate terms from other organisations.
