About the Collections Trust
The Collections Trust is the UK's independent organisation for collections. It sets professional Collections Management standards, and provides advice, support and training to help people meet them. Its aim is to connect people and collections, making collections accessible to everyone, now and in the future.
The origins of the Collections Trust's work in standards goes back over 30 years with our predecessor organisation MDA, and for the past 10 years we have been responsible for maintaining SPECTRUM, the UK and international Collections Management standard.
Collections Link
Collections Link is the Collections Trust's flagship advisory service, run in partnership with the Institute of Conservation and the National Preservation Office.
Collections Link provides Collections Management advice and information to museums, libraries, archives and other collections-holding organisations. It features an online library of best practice guidelines and resources, and a telephone and email enquiries service. The website features a national database of training and skills development opportunities, and there is a commissioning fund to support the development of new resources.
The service is funded by MLA through the Renaissance in the Regions programme.
