Project Proposal - Skills Banks

Status

This project proposal is under active discussion with the Collections Trust's partners and stakeholders including the MLA Partnership.

Summary description

The cultural heritage profession holds considerable knowledge and expertise in the professional management of collections. This expertise is distributed throughout the industry in the heads of curators, Development Officers and other expert advisers.

The focus of this proposal is to develop a persistent online community of experts and advisors, which can be used both as a point of reference and as an interface for prospective employers, tenders and organisations to identify individuals by their skills and geographical location.

There is a potential need for the development of Skills Banks across a variety of Collections Trust's stakeholder communities. Examples include the need to provide a searchable database of expertise in diaspora, access and social inclusion.

BudgetThe initial budget for this project requires an upfront capital investment of £20k.
