| Summary description | During 2006-07, the Collections Trust and the 24 Hour Museum were funded by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) to develop SSNConnect – a distributed publishing and collaboration platform for the Renaissance-funded Subject Specialist Networks. The proposal is to extend similar functionality in order to support the work of the Renaissance-funded Museum Development Officers and their associated network. The aim would be to develop an online, up-to-date listing of Museum Development Officers browsable by region and specialism, and to make this publicly available through the Collections Link website. Alongside the publicly-available service would be a set of tools designed to support communication with and between MDOs – most likely in the form of elists or RSS feeds managed by a central editor. |
