| Summary description | Pests are one of the most significant threats to the long-term preservation of collections. It is proposed to bring together monitoring data from museums and museum stores, and use it to generate a real-time map of pest infestations and movements across the UK. The map will serve as an ‘early-warning' system for Collections Managers. It will alert them to seasonal and other trends, ensuring that they can plan preventive conservation and collections management to minimise the risk to their collections. |
