Brief Description

ModesXML is a newly developed collections management application. It is supplied with the Object Format to support SPECTRUM procedures, and an EAD application for archives also supplied as standard. Public access can be developed through a web interface.

Minimum Hardware

  • Processor: Intel Pentium IV;
  • Memory: 256MB (512Mb optimum);
  • Disk size: depends on Collection size (excluding images);
  • Video: No special requirements.

Operating Systems and Networks

Server - Windows 2000 / Windows 2003

Client - Windows 98SE, 2000, XP.

Network - Any TCP/IP network.

Images

Each record may have multiple images attached. Display, print and export images using all the standard file formats. ModesXML automatically generates thumbnails from linked images. All other document types, including video, text, word processing documents, spreadsheets, pdfs etc. supported by integration with appropriate desktop software.

Public Access

Using standard web browser. Researchers can also log into the system as read-only users.

CD Publication

Records may be copied to CD for distribution in HTML, XML or PDF format.

Internet

Using standard web browser. Built-in CGI module will deliver data as XML to an ASP based interface.

Client / Server. Based on NexusDB server.
