Brief Description

iBase Manager is a high performance application for managing and cataloguing collections of digital assets, including images, sound files, video files and other documents such as those in PDF format or created in MS Word. It is part of an integrated suite of programs offering full internet publication of these files.

Minimum Hardware

The hardware specification for running the Manager client is dependant on the types of files to be stored and manipulated. The recommended specification for working with image files is:

Client:

  • Processor: Intel Pentium 4 1.5Ghz, or AMD Athlon XP+ equivalent
  • Memory: 512MB
  • Display: At least 1024 x 768 True Colour (24 bit) mode
  • Local disc: 500MB free disc space

The server specification is that recommended for the underlying database engine. In addition, space is required for storage of images and other files in a suitable location on the network.

Operating Systems and Networks

Client workstation: Microsoft Windows 2000, XP.

iBase Manager can also be run via Citrix or via Terminal Services and similar.

Images

The entire iBase suite of software supports images, video files, sound files and documents, which can span a very wide range of file types.

The iBase software suite includes a web engine which can be supplied with a variety of add-on modules (including e-commerce) or can be used as the basis for a customized site.

Database Architecture

iBase Manager and other elements of the iBase suite use completely standard data tables in MS SQL Server or Oracle. Connection is via standard ODBC.

Images and other asset files are stored in standard formats, providing a completely open and flexible architecture.
