Digital Content
Libraries, archives and museums have been transformed over the past 10 years from ‘venues' to ‘publishers'. They are among the most active producers of publicly-funded digital content in the world.
This content spans a vast range of subject areas. Through investment in digitisation and content-creation, the culture sector is becoming an amazing resource for education, research and finding our more about yourself, your culture and the world around you.
The Collections Trust's role is to build the infrastructure, skills, networks and partnerships which will enable this content to reach the widest possible audience. Working in partnership with the team at Culture24, our aim is to build the profile of the sector by brokering content into mass-market services such as Google and the BBC.
Digital Content Action Framework
The Collections Trust endorses and supports the Digital Content Action Framework developed by Museums Galleries Scotland. This framework places digital content at the heart of cultural services and identifies four priority themes:
- Creating
- Delivering
- Preserving
- Sharing
