As a documentation specialist, I have experience working in independent, local authority, and regional hub museums. I bring to the Collections Trust Board knowledge and experience of documentation provision, training and advice, standards development and working with cultural heritage partners at local, regional and national levels. I believe that high standards of collections management and collections care are crucial in enabling museums to unlock the great wealth of knowledge, enjoyment and inspiration that people derive from collections. I work with the Collections Trust because I welcome the opportunity to help shape the role that collections management plays in today's cultural sector - especially at a time when the Collections Trust is establishing itself as the lead organisation for the management of collections in the United Kingdom. My work on the Board is wide-ranging, dealing with all areas of the work that the Collections Trust is engaged in, as well as identifying opportunities for its future growth and development. When not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, and researching and writing on the history of the South Wales coal industry. I am also interested in 1950s Americana and classic air-cooled Volkswagens! |
